Travel lessons learned on recent trip
After spending just under two weeks running around the region, dashing through airports, dragging dive gear and cameras and taking photos in waters that ranged from 72 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and visibility from 12 inches to 200 feet, I learned a few travel lessons.
First, visiting three different airports in one day on three separate airlines without luggage check-through in each and traversing four countries can be a real challenge.
Add to that the reality that one of the airports was a few miles from the other and the task of loading really mounted up quickly as I watched the minutes tick by while standing in the customs and immigration lines because of the airline/airport switches.
Second, while some airports aren't the most modern, they do tend to have amenities, like free luggage carts (that work), than more modern airports tend to lack. The newer airports have found that charging for the carts is in vogue. Then there is the problem of more people than carts!
