Whether you're out shopping, or enjoying the holidays with the family, remembering just a few basic things can keep you and yours safe during the season.
"One of the main things we see is people failing to lock their cars and wondering why stuff got stolen," said Lt. Rich Hoaglund with the North Platte Police Department. "It's pretty simple, but it's pretty basic. Don't leave your purse in an unattended shopping cart. Do anything that you can do to streamline your shopping. If you don't need the big purse, don't take it; take a wallet."
