Questions and Answers about Can you lock luggage

Can you lock luggage?

Question: I'm flying London - Chicago - Winnipeg next week, but am not sure if I am allowed to lock my hold luggage? I've read in some places that you can't? Help!
I live in England, any ideas where I can buy locks like that here? If so, what are they called?

Answer: You can lock it but chances are good that TSA will break the lock to look inside. If you go to a travel store or even Walmart they sell locks that the TSA can open without breaking them off.

Also, you can probably buy them at your airport and put them on before

Renault's bright new spark

Renault says the Fluence EV will arrive in a single, highly specced version priced under $40,000. But that doesn't include the battery lease.

It is not yet known whether the cost will include charges for swapping batteries or how long the lease terms will be. The French brand wants to make a mark with the car, so the price will be as strategic as it can bear.

Right now Mitsubishi has the tiny i-MiEV for $48,000, so an unscientific calculation of the Fluence's final price would be: about $40,000 plus $8000 wriggle room plus a possible premium due to the Fluence's larger size. Not much help at this stage, we know.

What buyers will have to weigh up when the Better Place prices are revealed next year is how quickly the total cost can be recouped compared with their weekly bowser bill. Better Place spokeswoman Alison Terry says any driver paying an average of $80 a week for fuel will be better off with a Fluence EV. So if that's your bowser bill for a small or medium sedan, the Renault could be the answer. As long as you don't live far from town.
