Rainbow: 'Cars 2' grinds my gears
If my family's Pixar movies come alive as soon we leave the room, then this is a big week for them.
"Cars 2" is out on DVD. They're probably trying to make room for it on the shelf.
Maybe the first "Cars" is even a little nervous. So far, it's the most watched Pixar movie in the house.
My son used to carry the "Cars" DVD ("deevy-deevy,") around with him in a turtle backpack, just in case he ended up somewhere where he could watch it.
And now my younger son loves it just as much; he actually sings that terrible Sheryl Crow song from the soundtrack whenever he plays cars.
"Cars" is by far the favorite, the Woody of our Pixar DVD shelf. Its cardboard box is worn soft as the Velveteen Rabbit.
Which is why it's so surprising that we haven't yet brought home "Cars 2."
And so surprising that we won't..
I hate that movie.
If "Cars 2" had come from anyone but Pixar, I'd just dislike it — or I wouldn't care about it at all. (So many kids' movies are stupid and/or violent, it's not worth getting worked up about.
